 “Voronezh
State Medical Academy was found in 1918, though its history goes back to
1801 – the foundation year of Derpt University, which is currently known
as Tartu University. Among the originators of higher medical
education in Voronezh were such scientists, doctors, true humanists as
Burdenko N.N., Leporsky N.I., Rusanov A.G., Nikiforov P.M., Iosifov G.M.
We always remember their names and deem it our duty to educate medical students
by the example of our mentors and teachers’ unselfish service to people.
Nowadays the most important task of the Academy’s staff is perfection and
development of academic, scientific, educational and moral traditions set
up by these devotees of science, keeping the spirit of creativity,
refinement, great devotion to the interests of profession”.
